US Radio for The New Order for Hearts of Iron IV.
Based on research and suggestions from the TNO subreddit, this is a standalone music mod designed for the upcoming release of “The New Order: Last Days of Europe”.
Along with custom album art, it has 52 songs chosen to fit the mood of the 1960s United States in TNO, covering major contemporary topics – including civil rights, the space race, the war in Africa, the war on poverty, and MAD – and representing the decade’s fast-changing musical trends.
Despite the upheaval of the Second World War, this mod portrays a musical timeline which is surprisingly familiar. From the Harlem Renaissance, R&B still emerges, and from R&B come Rockabilly, Doo-Wop, Soul, and familiar kinds of Rock and Roll. But without groups like the Beatles, Kinks, and Rolling Stones, popular music takes a different course. In this timeline, native genres of rock remain dominant to the end of the decade, and artists like The Beach Boys assume the influence and popularity of OTL British bands. The traditions of country and folk music develop in very similar ways to our timeline, and Bob Dylan and Simon And Garfunkel still gain widespread popularity. The mod includes songs recorded up to the end of 1969 from the US and Canada.
Broadcasting from the iconic Chrysler Building in New York City, the in-game NBS Radio Network reaches audiences nationwide with the soundtrack of the American 60s.
